acoustic folk country lai
Lyricist on an endless quest for the perfect melody.
I'm afraid I can't claim to be a band, although I have been known to jump on a bandwagon from time to time. No, I'm just a humble lyricist who is in absolute awe of the composers who have stumbled into my life and bothered to wrap a melody around some of my words. I've been attempting to legitimately call myself a lyricist since I was about 14 years old. Have a listen, won't you, and let me know if I qualify.

Lyrics
Dance In The Rain (c) 2009 Janice Hopkins/Greg Brown/Mark Preston Walked up on our porch one Thursday night Our young neighbor and his pretty wife We were used to hearing all their heated spats They needed our advice gettinga019 past all that Cause everyday they'd see us hand in hand It was hard for them to understand When we're hammered by the sudden storms of life How do we dodge the thunder and the lightning strikes We said... Find the good times in the midst of pain And Dance In The Rain When hope is lost search each other's face You'll get it back again Hold each other throughout the years Forever dries a lot of tears Look far beyond the clouds and share the pain And Dance In The Rain We said we'd had our share of struggles too Money, kids and jobs just to name a few When the lights went out the anger left our hearts The morning came again, we got another start We'd find the good times in the midst of pain And Dance In The Rain When hope is lost search each other's face And get it back again Hold each other throughout the years Forever dries a lot of tears Look far beyond the clouds and share the pain And Dance In The Rain That next week as showers soaked the ground Saw them barefoot dancing round and round Out in the yard just like two kids at play Then with his shirt he softly wiped her face We heard 'em say... Repeat Chorus Let's find the good times...

love the way you turned the lyric around on this version, very clever work.
