Story behind the song
This song went through probably 3 different versions before the final one we uploaded. The inspiration came from multiple directions - life, love and the pursuit of learning who you are as a person. Some of the voices were real answering machine messages or conversations with people in my life - incorporating them made the song more real to us. The screaming you hear in pieces of the music was originated by listening to Tears For Fears and how they used what they called a "Primal Scream" in pieces of their music. What my bandmates did was wait till I was loaded and upset - then recorded me screaming. This particular song is one of my personal favorites in arrangement, lyrics and how dramatic/emotional it is. Even today asking yourself "Who are you?" is a tough question to answer - not to mention when you are in your early 20's.
