Okay, okay, so I'm just one guy. But in the studio, I'm an entire band. I play electric and 6 & 12 string acoustic guitars, mandolin, bass, keyboards, and drums plus do all the vocals and write all the music. I'm self taught and don't read music except for maybe chord charts. Well maybe not entirely self taught-mom got me started since she was a guitarist/mandolinist herself. But she played by ear too so guess that's where I got it. Not that I didn't do my time in various bands. The last, Legacy, was a full time road band until 1983 when I finally got to a space in my life where I told myself there's got to be a better way than just playing covers for a living. And then I found digital recording. Way cool...........

Story behind the song
This song was born out of one of those terribly depressing thoughts we all have once in a while (then again, maybe it's just me)...Imagining how empty life would be without my lovely Aleksandra. She jokes that this song is where I "killed her off".
Lyrics
©2006 Words and Music by Mark Cullen Io Music Ltd. All Rights Reserved Tired eyes cradled in the arms of the dawn Lonely mist grips his soul like a lover His thoughts travel back holding an instant in time The soft image of her like no other (Chorus) A world away A world a day A lifetime in a second A world away But not today Another lifetime forever beckons A worn heart limping through the dust of the day The cold breath of the wind makes him shiver Daydreams persisting stealing peace that he seeks As he longs for her touch light as a feather (Chorus) He remembers the way she talked He remembers the way she walked He remembers the way she held him on those long ago winter nights He remembers her glowing eyes He remembers her lows and highs He remembers the way she smiled and said they would always be alright And now he sits at the window all alone with his thoughts And he wonders when the strength will come and he'll be able to move on There's a piece of him missing in the middle of his soul Will he ever again be whole? (Chorus)
