Granyte is from Remlap, Alabama and was raised by his Mother and Adoptive Father. Granyte explained the start of his stage name was based on the first song he ever did. It was a remix of Fed Up, and the last two bars were “Writing till I have the tighest flow on the planet/ Calling Breezy the rock, cause I’m the whitest known granite/” His mentor Major Sherard (Strange Wayz) started having the rest of the group call him Granite, because he didn’t have a stage name at that point. He changed the I to a Y because it looked cooler.
